In this project, we have combined a concierge's lodge with several storage units in order to offer a warm, bright and comfortable souplex. This type of space is becoming more and more common in Paris, where every square meter counts, and yet it can represent a real challenge. Therefore, we wanted to put ourselves in the user’s shoes to offer them a welcoming and functional space with a smooth transition between the two levels.

The major challenges here were to address the lack of natural light and to properly insulate the space to prevent humidity. To achieve this, we completely replaced the existing concrete slab on the floor with a more insulating and sturdy system. We also reworked the entire insulation system for the walls and existing openings. For brightness, we worked with different shades of white, mirrors, and a variety of lighting points to compensate for the unique typology of the place.
